Like Clockwork Set for Disconcertingly Large Release in Germany

Bluts BrauteI recently received the advance marketing material for Like Clockwork‘s release in Germany, from its publisher there, Blanvalet – and confess to being rather overwhelmed by the impending wave of hype.

The book will be called Bluts Bräute (“Blood Bride” – great title, wish I’d thought of it). Its cover will feature on a series of city and freeway billboards, plus advertising hoardings in places like airports. The campaign theme and visuals are delightfully spine-chilling: a dragonfly having its wings plucked off, in “she loves me, she loves me not” fashion.

All this in aid of backing up an initial print run of – I still blink at the thought – 100 000 copies. Here’s to the German reading public!
